Salado, Texas Renewable Energy Stampede 2010
By
For everyone who attended the First Annual Renewable Energy Stampede in Salado, Texas, wasn’t it great! The line-up of speakers was excellent (even if the weather wasn’t very cooperative). Salado, Texas is such a beautiful town with a long history and friendly folks; the bluebonnets were in bloom; so a little rain here and there was tolerable.
As in most renewable energy forums we’ve attended in the last several years, the focus is mostly wind and solar energy, but there were several speakers talking about biofuels (including biodiesel). The vendors present showed many ways that home owners can take advantage of energy saving devices for even the most urban and suburban homes.
There were a number of speakers talking about waste management and ways to reduce impacts on landfills by composting and recycling on a large scale. It is encouraging to hear business’ talk about having zero waste. This presenter runs a restaurant in the Austin Texas area and they either compost or recycle all of the restaurant waste, eliminating the need for any trash collection.
West Texas BioEnergy isn’t about recycling and organic growing but these are topics that fit perfectly with our business vision of creating energy at the local level to support and strengthen our country and personal spheres of life.

Off the grid power can be a safer alternative when used properly.
Just want to add that it is really awfull how we are just consuming ever natural resource available on Earth. How will our children make it in the worl today. Please try to help by making some changes if not for me or yourself, do it for your children. I am doing my part here.
Renewable Energy got into more focuse in this decade because everyone does not want to depend on Oil.,-~
I think that solar power is the future of energy. I really don’t see any other technology that has the same potential or ease of use. It’s just a matter of time until it is dirt cheap as well.
this kind of energy is more efficient and i already use for my car.
This is my first time i visit here. I found so many interesting stuff in your weblog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all of the enjoyment right here! keep up the great work.
